Vivian Maier’s my favorite photographer ever. She’s way underrated and hangs with big names like Henri Cartier-Bresson, Robert Frank, Garry Winogrand, and Daidō Moriyama.
I love photography because it’s so personal—everyone’s got their own style, and that’s what keeps me hooked. I’ve been taking pics for 14 years but never post them online, kinda like Vivian. They’re just for me.
She’s my inspiration. I watched Finding Vivian Maier and got obsessed—it shows a bit of her weird, quiet life and her awesome photos. She took over 150,000 pictures, which is insane! Most of them nobody saw till after she died.
I’ve used all kinds of cameras—Canon, Nikon, Fujifilm, Sony—but right now I’m stuck on my Ricoh GR III. It’s small and easy, perfect for my crazy life with three kids (8, 9, and 13, all nuts), homeschooling them through math fights, and running my lawnmowing business. I sneak shots between cutting grass and chasing my kids. Vivian would totally get it—snapping life on the down-low. We’re kinda the same like that.

片名Air Base并非指的是真实的空军基地，而是武汉的一个池塘，当地钓鱼者经常去那里钓鱼，但他们在那里总钓不到鱼。电影中从未直接提到疫情，但显然它存在着，甚至在片名中也是如此。
李珞的朋友在那个池塘通常除了风什么也钓不到，这个生态系统让人想起他之前电影中无处不在的水、堤坝和河岸边不同的自然景观，像可塑的河流一样流动，反复出现的元素不断形成新的构图，但这一次是受控制的、封闭的。封闭后的城市成了“基地”的放大版，它存在的形式回荡在棋盘、时钟、自行车车轮、飞盘、过山车、失忆症、监禁等图案中。被困在这个无形的笼子里，人们做出有趣而富有诗意的动作，像管弦乐队一样指挥交通和路人，实地考察以收集民众的叹息，或在墙上画上神秘的鱼钩。
影片入围第47届法国真实影展竞赛单元，本届影展将于3月22日-29日举行。
