C.シュミット『政治的なものの概念』における「友敵理論」や規範なき決断主義などで、「実存主義」的と形容されることもあるが、これは間違い。
まず実存主義の定義は意外に難しいが、最低、個人の「複数性」を前提とする。従って、「決断」の主体も当然、複数になり、結果複数の個人によって構成される「秩序」の安定性は自明ではなくなる。
ところが、シュミットの全著作を通じて「決断」の主体は単数形、しかも国家である。より具体的には「大統領の独裁」（ヒンデンブルク）がシュミットの理想となる。
シュミットの反「規範主義」、反「基礎づけ主義」と見えるものは、実は、「独裁」には理性的な基礎づけは必要なく、「つべこべ言わず従え」ということ。
また「友敵」理論にしても、あくまで「民族」という集合は自明視され、個人の友敵関係は理論から排除される。要するにドイツ民族（友）の「敵」とは討議不可能であるし、相互に「殲滅関係」にしかない、と主張される。
シュミットのホッブス解釈も明らかに誤りである。ホッブスはあくまで「自然法」という「理性の論理」によって「主権国家」を基礎づけた。
それでいてシュミットは法学者としてワイマール憲法48条（緊急事態条項）をあれこれ解釈して独裁を正当化するのであるから、ここは滑稽である。

Men who act and behave like Trump is actually shockingly common, but they tend to limit their future at least somewhat more effectively than Trump has. My brother has undoubtedly gotten much futher than most who try this route, though he'll never be nearly as "successful" as Trump.
It's a matter of public record actually: I wrote a bunch of software at my brother's request that was used to answer E911 calls at Parke County Indiana from 2013 to 2018. He never paid me, then sued me claiming me as his "employee" that he admitted in court to never paying.
I consider that blackmail, and I refuse to have anything to do with him again unless he obtains a felony criminal conviction and serves multiple years in prison.
