The Pi's I already had. Definitely not the cheapest compute, but love that they sip energy and can be powered PoE. The density Is great also.
The NAS was pricey but also overbuilt. All flash based. Tons of storage. Could he done cheaper though. I use it professionally as well so easier to justify

I've never heard of Photorec.
I have a hard drive with a ton of files and photos on it that will not open.

i've read stuff along those lines too, and there are drum presets on the a4. what's the point. the rytm is much more immediate and much more fun for drums. you read all sorts of nonsense in these forums, mostly its cope i've come to the conclude. The A4 as capable as it is would be very fiddly for doing what the Rytm does without blinking. You have 4 channels on the A4 obviously, so you're limited to four sounds unless you use p-locks to change patches etc... I've never bothered to be honest, but I do have gas and a proliferation of drum machines 😂

I used to lowkey be kind of an alcoholic.
I didn’t drink everyday, but when I did drink (usually once a week) I would binge drink (12-20 drinks).
The thing that got me to stop was realizing that drinking was effecting my brain and emotional health during the periods where I wasn’t drinking.
I went completely sober for about a year and went through a period of depression and anxiety for several months as my brain reset.
I kept getting these waves of repressed emotion. Things I had been burying for 20 years and I’d find myself like randomly crying in the milk aisle at the grocery store lmao 😂
It was only then that I realized why I had been drinking so hard in the first place.
It was me coping with difficult and painful emotions and experiences from childhood.
When I realized that I thought to myself “how fucking weak and pathetic” it was.
I told myself be tough and look your problems in the face.
So I did.
And life got better.

I had a chance to listen and I’ll definitely tune in to this in future.
I grew up working agriculture jobs as a kid and teenager. My first actual job was picking strawberries. I was not great at it. I think I made about $1.64 per hour as a 12 y.o. Later I worked in orchards, picking a little but mostly planting and grafting.
Much later I worked at a wholesale and retail nursery that grew and sold fruit tree stock, herbs, berries, roses, rhododendrons and other landscaping plants. This was the most peaceful and enjoyable job I’ve ever had, but it was minimum wage and tough to make a go of it. I had to pay off debt and such so left for better paying jobs.
My extended family includes orchardists and farmers (apples, pears, peppers, alphalpha, hay).
I’m curious to check in with them all at the next family reunion, how things are looking with the political and possible technological shakeups.
Anyway, the topics you cover are interesting to me. Looking forward to hearing future conversations.
