I agree with you that nothing has technically changed yet and laws don't really matter because the only laws Bitcoin follows is its own.
But public perception still kind of matters. Saylor is a very prominent talking head and There are a large portion of people who agree with a lot of what he has to say.
I kind of hate that lately I've been thinking that public image kind of matters, but with a large portion of the world's population not necessarily aware of Bitcoin or having a negative view on Bitcoin. And to have a small mess of prominent talking heads being like, "oh, Bitcoin isn't money. It's just a savings asset that we can safely regulate"...is troublesome and counter productive.

I would disagree on your first sentence. During the 19th century up until WWI, a lot of governments didn’t have the monopoly on money and didn’t do the worse for it. It‘s all up to the ethics of those in power IMHO. And reverting to sound money would be one heck of a legacy for any president!

I think clients could implement a web-of-trust based relay explorer. For instance, if you go to Amethyst's relay settings and scroll to the bottom, you'll find recommended relays based on how many of your follows are using them.
Amethyst doesn't have a way to explore a particular relay's feed, and it displays any and all relay types, not just public relays, so this feature has limited usefulness. However, it would be quite useful on a client like Jumble, which would allow you to browse that particular relay's feed before deciding to add it to your own relay list.
I am not sure how Jumble's explore tab orders the relays in the list. It seems random, as each time I refresh the page, different relays are at the top. Would love to see the option to sort relays in this list by how many of my follows are using them, geographical location, relay implementation, etc.
Are relay profiles a thing? I feel like they should be a thing. Each relay should store a unique note that gives helpful details about the relay's purpose and whether anyone can write to it, only those within a certain user's web-of-trust, or only whitelisted members (without doxing who they are).
