This set up has some benefits but in reality it doesn’t protect against address surveillance which is the bigger issue if you have a seizure order. I guess it depends what risk you are trying to mitigate.

also, yes, changing the threading model probably would fix it in my code, so managing pings and whatnot was done in one thread, but the actual socket management data would still blow up even there, and when you consider that 2kb is the coroutine load per socket, and the socket itself is probably more than that, it was probably actually just holding that socket open that was the problem, while trying to "throttle" their requests
idk what to say, it's just a bad model, if you ask me, i'm pretty sure that there is likely myriads of historical experience relating to request/response protocols being a disaster to manage over bidirectional sockets

The state will always exist.
Bitcoin is playing the pivotal role of bringing it down to size by removing the power of the fiat money printer.
One can rightly criticize the state without deluding oneself into thinking it will disappear entirely.

yeah
nobody is really having discussion to change their counterparties views. We already know that isnt happening.
But we do participate so that it all gets aired out publicly and others can incorporate those views into their perspective
I'm NOT a proponent of ossification.
10 more years of development and maturation before attracting normies and legacy institutions would've been better for preserving the original 1st principles.

A free market naturally intertwines economies, making war an unprofitable and self-destructive option. This is why **protectionism is dangerous**—it isolates economies, removes shared incentives for peace, and makes conflict more likely. When trade is unrestricted, industries, supply chains, and financial systems become so interconnected that war becomes too costly for both sides. Instead of fighting, nations compete through business, letting markets—not militaries—decide winners.
### **1. Economic Interdependence Creates a Deterrent**
When two countries trade freely, their industries, supply chains, and financial systems become interconnected. If war breaks out, both sides suffer economic collapse, making conflict too costly. This is why major trade partners rarely go to war—doing so would be like setting fire to their own wealth.
### **2. War Destroys Profitable Trade Networks**
Businesses rely on stable supply chains. When a country disrupts these networks by going to war, it loses access to raw materials, labor, technology, and markets. Nations that benefit from trade are hesitant to jeopardize their own prosperity.
### **3. The Market Allocates Power Efficiently**
Unlike political power, which is often concentrated and reckless, market power is diffused. It incentivizes cooperation over destruction. If one nation refuses to trade, another steps in. This makes economic influence stronger than military threats over time.
### **4. The Free Market as Power Projection**
After a long enough period, free trade becomes a form of soft power stronger than military force. It creates a web of incentives where peace is more profitable than war. The best way to dominate another country is not through invasion but by making them dependent on your goods, services, and financial systems.
### **TL;DR**
A truly free market acts as an invisible empire—one that doesn’t need armies because the cost of breaking economic ties is too high. **Protectionism fuels war, while free trade makes it obsolete.**

also, this is another point about the problem of websockets
what happens with spammers and rate limiters and sockets is if you slow down on one connection, they open another
i'm pretty sure that is what was happening, and they blew up the relay, exibit 52491 in the case against websockets for request/response APIs

I don't think there can be any such thing as a master list, since anyone can make up a hashtag at any time. However, as a general practice, folks have been adding "str" as a suffix to whatever topic they are posting about. For instance:
#foodstr
#catstr
#carstr
#beerstr
Sticking with "str" hashtags is likely to get you actual Nostr users.

I kinda doubt its ever been any different honestly. Every generation thinks it lives in the end of days.
But yeah, there are very few youngsters coming. Which is a little weird because I generally see that they are in fact interested in discipline and meditation.
I guess with the lukewarm attitude if most "Zen centers" that isn't actually very weird.
Just unfortunate because Zen has a lot to offer a serious person who wants to better themselves and do something good in the world.
As long as they are willing to work hard.

The only thing worse than "automatic follows" is freshly booting up #damus or #primal and finding just "nothing"... just loading content, and nothing loads. This was my entire experience using #nostr during 2024. I literally tried to use Nostr a few times last year and just gave up at this first thing where nothing would load. So given that, I'd much rather be auto-followed to a bunch of BTC maxis who only post "GM'... when the alternative is NO CONTENT!

For any new Nostr developers (such as myself), who can read Javascript, I highly recommend the #yakihonne repository .. For example, for learning how zaps work in practice: https://github.com/YakiHonne/yakihonne-web-app/blob/main/client/src/Components/NOSTR/ZapTip.js ... ZapTip.js is a MASTERPIECE of readability, all in one file! But..... nostr:npub1yzvxlwp7wawed5vgefwfmugvumtp8c8t0etk3g8sky4n0ndvyxesnxrf8q can you push your latest code at some point? For example I think this "relaysOnPlatform" variable is not used like this anymore ... https://github.com/YakiHonne/yakihonne-web-app/blob/571028ae09eafa95fcf1c75922fd11f99ff2193e/client/src/Components/NOSTR/ZapTip.js#L264 ... I cans see when I zap using Yakihonne that you are are somehow pulling in additional relays, like the user's 10002 relays? To understand how this worked, I've been looking at #coracle nostr:npub1jlrs53pkdfjnts29kveljul2sm0actt6n8dxrrzqcersttvcuv3qdjynqn codebase.... the #coracle codebase in MUCH more difficult to understand, but the actual performance of the web application is also MUCH better than Yakihonne - I think that's a tradeoff of readability vs performance! In Coracle, after quite a bit of digging, I semi-understand how Coracle is aggregating the relays to put into the zap event, I think it is grabbing the "read" relays from the 10002 event.... it involves getting into the "Welshman" repository (perhaps named for a certain developer who might of Welsh descent....) https://github.com/coracle-social/welshman repository, ... All somewhat too complicated for me to fully understand but I think this complexity leads to better performance.... The relays that are added to the Zap Event are aggregated here: https://github.com/coracle-social/coracle/blob/b47ab64a4c7a897eaa1a81980940664797d032b3/src/app/views/Zap.svelte#L93

X Connectのミラー投稿がすこし不安定だ
てかそもそもTwitter側の字数制限超えると弾かれるみたいだからちょと不便
字数表示してくれるNostrクライアントがあればいいんだけど。

as you may or may not know
I am not a fan of ossification of the Bitcoin protocol.
For each two people who have a public disagreement, there are 20 lurkers who don't know what to think about the subject.
Public debate is public service.
