My ego never had much chance to develop. Most of my early years were spent in a harsh environment, dominated by fearful, zero-sum people. So, week by week, that ego withered under destruction of others.
By the time things improved, I had already been used to live in ways that didn't depend on ego.
Nowadays, I mostly manage it through identities. Whenever I start taking myself too seriously in one, I switch. I shift focus back to goals - to what needs to be accomplished, rather than the illusion of self-importance.

The struggles of the Plebs in ancient Rome hold a striking relevance to our own modern-day battles for power and accountability. The parallels between ancient Rome and our own era are striking. Just as the Plebs fought against the concentration of power and the erosion of their rights, we face similar challenges today. But with Bitcoin and NOSTR, I believe that we have the tools we need to create a better future for ourselves and for generations to come.
We can't change the past, but we can shape the future. And with Bitcoin, we have the tools to create a world where money is a source of empowerment, not enslavement.

2. You have to rebuild your entire social network graph across all apps

This orchid only becomes more special as time goes on. Not only is it the first one we’ve brought to flower more than once (by now I’ve lost track, but at least four times), but when nostr:npub17nd4yu9anyd3004pumgrtazaacujjxwzj36thtqsxskjy0r5urgqf6950x asked if he could paint it, I was honored.
I didn’t expect that one day soon I would be looking at the painting in person, but here it is, simply beautiful, a forever representation of this living being.
