honestly though, i'm not sure if you are seeing this but if you just make the community an actual npub its follows and mutes can literally be the rules of access to the community, and several relays can simply use this
the only missing part is linking participating relays to sync with each other, which can be done by the use of that tag

membership lists for the community would also need to be shared, so that not just anyone can tag their posts with this identity and expect to get it accepted

yeah, i don't know why it can't be more simply expressed as a federation of arrays at most, then all that is required is a replication protocol between the peers (probably just subscribe to each other's stream of events)
the community identity i guess... that would be probably implemented as a tag in the events, and for the subscription to propagate you just searth on that tag and get sent updates so the replicas stay in sync (making it not matter to users which peer they are attached to)

it's something like "ignore". it means i think this person is ok, but i am not interested in what they talk about, so it's like a neutral score for a social graph web of trust
there are people who i see pop up who i don't follow who are quite noisy and not very interesting, i want to not see their stuff because it bores me

I still don't understand how a chat bot could be called or could spawn "AI" let alone "AGI".
I think it's clear we can have ever better machines (which is all these are) and that they could be so sophisticated that they could trick a human into thinking they are intelligent, but they still lack even the very basics of intelligence.

That's very very efficient, will replace jobs, but it's not intelligence. It's just turtles all the way down.

i made the follow/mute list control scheme for #realy because it is easy to find a client that lets you do that for a given identity, it doesn't have to be your normal daily use one, and it's simple to build tools that modify these two lists for specialised administrative clients

the models i have in mind are more like the way i run mleku.realy.lol - it's my personal relay, and some of my follows use it
the other side is hosted service provision for businesses where it's only about access control and payment rails inside the clients and the relay are nonexistent because it's purely permission controlled - for the most part, a business doesn't need to restrict how its employees communicate, just make it private and reliable, so it would be read-restricted as well
i'm not sure you have thought through the economic incentives in your model, it's basically pay for visibility it looks like, and if that leads to income for the visible then you are going to have to defend against engagement farmers
also, just sayin' but overall the subscription model, pay-per-time wins out due to cognitive burden, and you only then need to have an accounting system to enforce reasonable limits, and if they are reached, nag the user to upgrade to a new tier, discounts are a good sweetener for that (eg, 20% off for your first 3 months at next tier)
these types of things also need ancillary services like media hosting, and a solid client offering, and probably will need a helpdesk team as well
