It's so funny I feel like we are saying the same thing at different times.
My point is that if I run code that I agree with my mempool doesn't propagate things I consider to be spam. I have no illusions that if a miner mines a valid block with transactions I dislike, I will still have to store that block in my UTXO set. But the choice of not propagating trash is what is up for debate here not the bounds of a valid transaction in the block.

I remember when he was throwing shade at nostr:npub1lh273a4wpkup00stw8dzqjvvrqrfdrv2v3v4t8pynuezlfe5vjnsnaa9nk when he forked core to establish knots. He attacked Luke claiming that Luke changed the op return limit to 42 but as we all know it was core who changed from 42 to 80.

The next attack on bitcoin is here which has been dubbed as the “block space wars”
Unlimited OP_RETURN limits makes it easier to inflate transactions. Inflated transactions mean less space in the blocks. Less space in the blocks means higher fees. Higher fees means less people are able to transact.
This could very well be the kiss of death. All that will remain is a store of value and NGU tech. P2P money will fade out into the sunset. Miners will spam to increase fee revenue.
Developers pushing for this have a hidden agenda. Why else would they try to force something facing so much resistance?
