As perguntas do tipo "E se...?" ficam sempre na minha cabeça. Estou cansada agora, então vou citar apenas um dos meus medos relacionados a isso. Outro dia, li sobre uma tempestade solar que aconteceu na metade do século XIX, a mais forte registrada até hoje ... Resumindo: na época, a tecnologia era o telégrafo, e os fios pegaram fogo nos postes. L mundo ficou sem comunicação, embora fosse algo bem primitivo, era o que tinham naquela época.
E se isso acontecesse hoje? Os satélites e servidores seriam destruídos, a eletricidade desapareceria e poderíamos ficar sem energia por anos. Então, me pergunto: e se uma tempestade solar igual ou pior acontecesse agora?

Yeah, it's typical in my experience to have staffing cycles. We'll be up for a bit before large numbers of people quit or move to other areas of healthcare (admin, clinics, etc). Staffing is only part of the problem though. Patient demands have skyrocketed (US perspective). People seem to think the emergency department is a hotel. I've had grown, able people tell us they want us to wipe their asses solely because they believe it's our job. Thankfully, many of us have adopted what we call "encouragement of independence and self-care," but managers aren't always supportive of this. It's the "customer is always right" mentality applied to a department notorious for losing money.
