I really like the idea, but also quickly realized I don’t want to jump to a specific app for 1 kind that does not look any different than current nostr feed.
Also, unfortunately it had the same issue that was about to kill instagram, people are not posting photos, but memes and text. Which is fine, but that’s not why I’m there.

it would increase fee rates with more transactions filling blocks, and it would mean blocks are more often full, as we saw in the past
the storage requirement for the raw chain offsets any benefit of the fact you can prune out that data
so, in summary, unlimited op_return means:
- more more often full blocks
- higher fee rates for transactions for lightning node runners and onchain users
- sooner that node runners need to upgrade from 1gb to 2gb storage to keep the raw chain data
and no, block only nodes have to keep that trash in them, and yes also normal nodes have to keep that trash in them, because the whole block has a checksum and you can't prune it out of that

i think it's some kind of mineral deficiency or cannabis that causes that problem, i used to have trouble remembering what i wanted to type into my computer to do a search not that long ago, immediately after having the thought, it was gone and took some effort to recover it
i think it was some combination of magnesium, calcium and potassium deficiencies

Well there is the underlying unobservable quantum state that seems to be evolving smoothly, just because observations decohere the state into seemingly discrete observables… you might think this means that it’s looks like particles are evolving discontinuously.
The true reality of everything *is* the quantum state, so i don’t think it’s true to say that just because you observe discrete outcomes that particles don’t move continuously, unless you are referring to some other mechanism i have never heard about.
There is even evidence (yale 2019, quanta article here[1]) that quantum decoherence is more of a smooth phenomenon vs an instantaneous, discrete jump.

if you ask me, the underlying issues here are big miners lobbying for more transactions in blocks, because lightning has taken away so much transaction volume that fee rates are miniscule and there is almost no backlog anymore
and as well, there is a billion shitcoin chains now, and almost all of them have stupendous transaction fees, so they are just trying to find a cheap place to put their trash for their scams
so of course bitcoiners are pissed off, because bitcoin has achieved what none of those billion chains could: efficiency

to be fair, if it's a self hosted wallet you can just use a UTXO management scheme where you try to avoid reusing the same UTXO very often, this way all payments look like they are outbound instead of some being change
idk how they can enforce this rule against "unlicensed" wallet software because they can't spy on your TLS traffic and especially not when it goes over a VPN, and if they want to pass through that boundary, that is the rubicon but the industry will fight back against this because they are asking for a golden key and that makes robbing people's data (and money) just a matter of one target to attack, which will be run by government, and therefore out of date and insecure
anyway, fuck the EUSSR, i'm as deep inside that shithole federation as i would ever want to be at this point, aside from visiting lisbon to get my passport renewed at the embassy
