The assholes at Vultr decided to ban me yesterday.
They asked for explanations of what I used my server for and when I said "nostr" they just told me to get the fuck out.
They gave me 12 hours to access my data and migrate all my dozens of relays and services. All while treating me like a fucking criminal.
I searched for an AI to help me migrate all my stuff and found this Warp tool that is pretty damn good.
It came up with a single one linger to deploy my strfry instances, do strfry db migration, configure HTTP server, everything! I can even tell it "hey, setup blossom on blossom.f7z.io and only allow my pubkey to upload stuff"
Damn fucking wild.
A lifetime ago, I used to be a sysops at a hosting company. Migrating this much stuff would have taken me about a week of fighting old package versions, database migrations, updating configurations.
Now I literally gave root access to an LLM to help me out and it literally did it extremely well. The setup it accomplished is already better than my very ad-hoc deployment I had in my previous server.

Nostr will not prove to be censorship resistant unless relays are operated over an anonymizing network, by anonymous operators.
However a very high bandwidth anonymising network seems not very plausible today.
That relays can be paid and incentivized with high levels of privacy is very helpful but doesn't solve the above.

I tend to see things really early. Like really early. I owned a ton of NVDA and AMD in the sub ten dollar range, bought the first mp3 players, etc. Typically I'm so early I get bored and move on before things even really get going.
I really see a protocol like Nostr having huge impact on the next decade. So, maybe it will be Nostr.

I don't think it's useful to argue by redefining terms. Money is what most people consider money. It's emergent from how we interact in society and also from how we use language.
There might be an older concept of money where bank balances are not considered money.
It's similar to how inflation is now rise in prices. Even linguistically, it's nonsense, monetary base can inflate, but prices rise, but don't inflate. But everyone uses the new term and because language is (among other things) tool for communication, the best use is in the way other people understand words.
This goes beyond economics.

I've been thinking about the old common law concept of the "reasonable man" as a benchmark in disputes. It's not a specific person, but an ideal of reasonableness. When handling conflicts, everyone is compared to this standard. Justice operates as if we’re all reasonable, expecting us to act that way, even though it’s not assumed everyone is. You can’t resolve disputes with a madman, after all.
But in the real world, this is often a problem. I’ve seen countless times that people just aren’t reasonable. Worse, even those who usually are can lose it when dealing with someone who’s gone completely off the rails. They turn into madmen themselves during arguments or disputes with crazy individuals. It’s frustrating to witness.
I’ve got two thoughts on this. First, I’m genuinely glad there are still reasonable people out there who stay calm and rational, even when facing someone clearly unhinged. That’s the positive. But on the negative side, I feel like being truly reasonable is rare these days. Honestly, it seems most people are a bit crazy... And many more than a bit...

This isn't true, under GDPR. It requires personally identifiable data to be irreversible deleted, both when not needed anymore and on recival of a data deletion request.
And personally identifiable data can't be anonymized ex. an emailadress is in and of itself id-data even when not connected to anything. Same for IP-adress, postal adress, phone numbers, personal names & nicknames etc.

As a part of the launch of I am Uncluttered (Yellow) I decided to test a new ecommerce platform, one that's based in Europe: Payhip.
This worked quite well in that it worked about as well as Lemon Squeezy and cost about the same, for the volume I sell.
That's a success in my book.
