Totally hear you…and yeah, opportunity cost is real. But I don’t see spending and holding as mutually exclusive. I stack aggressively because I believe in the long term upside, but I also spend occasionally to support the circular economy I want to see thrive.
If we all just hodl and never use sats, Bitcoin stays an asset, not money. I want both….a store of value and a usable currency. It’s a long game, and sometimes that means planting seeds, not just counting them.
Respect your perspective though. Utimately, we’re on the same team. 👊🏼

C’est une discussion réelle, avec un jeune papa croisé au marché.
Et je n’ai pas su quoi lui répondre.
Parce qu’en réalité… cette équation est presque insoluble : allaiter un bébé et le faire dormir à distance, sans cododo, c’est souvent un chemin de croix pour les mères. Et pour les pères aussi.
Mais comment en parler sans jugement, sans donner un conseil de plus ?
Je me suis tue. J’ai juste souri, avec compassion. Parce que moi aussi je suis passée par là.
Pendant des semaines, j’ai écouté tous les conseils. J’ai essayé de faire dormir mon bébé dans son lit. J’ai voulu préserver mon couple comme on me disait de faire. Et j’étais épuisée.
Ce que j’ignorais ? Que physiologiquement, notre corps n’est pas fait pour ça.
Les mères allaitantes ont besoin de dormir avec leur bébé.
Quand le cododo est sécurisé, il permet d’allaiter sans même se réveiller.
Pas de pleurs. Pas de réveils en sursaut. Juste un réflexe. Un sein. Le bébé tète. Et tout le monde se rendort.
Mieux encore : des études montrent que l’allaitement améliore la qualité du sommeil… y compris pour le couple.
👉 Ball (2002) et Blyton (2002) en parlent très bien.
Mais pour que ce soit possible, il faut respecter la physiologie. Permettre à la mère de ne pas se lever. Aménager un espace adapté. Se renseigner. Accompagner.
C’est pour ça que j’ai créé une préparation audio pensée pour les futurs papas.

If you already own a home or plan to buy one, not having a mortgage is leaving massive money on the table.
A mortgage is the every-man’s way to perform a Pierre Rochard-style speculative attack on the fiat system.
You put downward pressure on the USD by shorting the dollar and upward pressure on bitcoin by buying it with the proceeds.
You are siphoning value out of the fiat world and into the bitcoin world.
You are hastening the dollar’s demise while pumping bitcoin’s rise.
You end up with two assets instead of one, funded by steadily debasing debt that you’ve sold to a fiat maxi who then sells it to the Fed.
You’ve now got two things working for you:

my hopefulness for the longterm success of nostr swings between excitement+optimism and total despair. there is no inbetween. it honestly could go either way.

I would definitely like to see it grow a lot more, but if this is all it ever gets to I guess it is what it is.
one thing for sure is if the funding dries up and working on nostr becomes unsustainable, I can rest knowing that the clients and tech I have built will keep working long after I'm gone.
So many startups and web apps come and go, but protocols are forever.
