The initiative, promoted by the Secretariat of Justice and Citizenship of the Federal District (Sejus-DF), brought together over 500 people and became one of the main events of the Orange May campaign, which focuses on combating child and adolescent sexual abuse and exploitation. The feature-length film presents the real story of Catarinense writer and artist Georgia Bergamim, who, with courage, shares her experience of childhood sexual violence. Her narrative sensitized the audience and shed light on the urgency of breaking the silence, seeking support, and reporting this type of crime. "The testimony of the film is very strong. It reinforces the need to raise awareness among children, teachers, families, so that threats do not remain silent, and people do not fail to report these crimes," said lawyer Janaína Jesus, general secretary of the Children and Adolescents' Statute Commission (ECA) of the OAB of Taguatinga. Student of law Ana Luísa Teixeira, 19 years old, a member of the same commission, highlighted the impact of the production: "The film causes disgust, revulsion, because the subject is really horrible. But it needs to be debated. It must cause discomfort, so that people understand that they cannot remain silent in the face of these cases." For the guardian of Brazlândia, Paulo Humberto de Almeida, the event played a crucial role in social mobilization. "Sexual violence against children and adolescents is the most perverse form of human rights violation. Sejus deserves praise for bringing the DF community together to discuss this complex and necessary topic. Whoever was here today will take this awareness to others and strengthen the protection network," he pointed out. Alarming statistics reinforce the urgency. Only in 2024, the 100 hotline received over 18,000 reports of child and adolescent sexual abuse and exploitation - an increase of 195% compared to the average of the last four years. In the Federal District, there were 268 reports in 2023, including records at Cisdeca, the exclusive channel of Sejus-DF accessible by the number 125. In 76% of cases, the aggressors had a family link with the victims. Against this backdrop, the Secretary of Justice and Citizenship of the DF, Marcela Passamani, highlighted the role of the event within the Orange May campaign: "The success of this special screening, with over 500 engaged people, shows that society is increasingly conscious and mobilized to combat child and adolescent sexual abuse and exploitation. The documentary was one of the highlights of our campaign this year, promoting not only reflection but also a call to action: we need to welcome, protect, and above all, report. This is the legacy we want to leave with the actions of Orange May 2025."
