The scariest dystopia I can imagine is one that seems inevitable: Neuralink-like device connected to AIs so that your thoughts become prompts, and the subsequent thoughts, ideas and mental images are indistinguisable from AI responses.
It's bad enough knowing that all "your" thoughts are downstream of everything you've ever perceived or interacted with - including the hypnotic sludge from overtly manipulative algorithms. I read from someone who heard from AI engineers that you can get ChatGPT to talk less bullshit. You know how it sometimes gets too chatty or throws in these fluffy phrases to keep you engaged or make you ask more questions?
To fix that, you just need to customize its style. Go to "Settings" (click your profile pic in the top right), then choose "Personalization" and go to "Custom Instructions". In the field that says "What traits should ChatGPT have?" you type in:
"Pragmatic, straightforward, no bullshit. Adjust to my tone. Clear and direct. No pseudo-phrases. Complete sentences. No hallucination. I want a realistic assessment, both understandable and direct, as if you were actually helping and not just coddling."

Sounds like semantics. If you invest your money in something, that money is not moving until you take it back out by selling it. Meanwhile the person you bought the asset from will invest it, park it, whatever you want to call it, into something else. Money in investment class assets just moves around between investment class assets, mostly. As more money arrives to buy those same assets, the price rises. What am I not getting.

Before the 2000s moral panic around "Pit Bulls", the #1 breed reported in dog attacks was the Labrador.
Labs are big enough to cause serious harm, and bred for prey drive. Popular and photogenic, though, so the moral panic fizzled quickly.
Before that, German Shepherds were the moral panic breed of the 1980s - but since fashion among bad people moved on long ago, the breed's reputation has improved.
