由于游客增加，日本全国各旅游胜地的住宿和餐饮相关行业的时薪正在上涨。北海道二世谷和神奈川县箱根地区的时薪超过东京都千代田区。在住宿和餐饮服务行业，目前的人手被认为比所需数量少2成以上，将提高时薪以确保人才。
按照市区郡调查日本人才服务企业En-Japan 的招聘网站“en-gage”上发布的2024年12月平均时薪。以“酒店、旅游”“餐饮”“保洁、保安”3个行业为对象。由于游客增加，以酒店为中心的保洁行业人手严重短缺。在旅游相关活动中，短缺保安人员也成为问题。

包含二世谷町在内的北海道虻田郡从2023年12月开始上述行业的时薪上涨10%，达到1436.9日元（约合人民币67.55元）。包括箱根町在内的神奈川县足柄下郡的时薪同比上涨8%，涨至1449.6日元（约合人民币68.14元）。
按日本全国的市郡来看，足柄下郡排在第11位，虻田郡排在第13位。最近一年超过了东京都千代田区的时薪（2024年12月为1428.7日元，约合人民币67.16元）。
日本全国时薪最高的是拥有浅草的东京都台东区，达到1514.5日元（约合人民币71.13元），最近一年上涨了7%，超过了东京都港区（1510.6日元，约合人民币71.01元）。

涨幅最高的是滋贺县草津市，上涨14%，涨至1299.4日元（约合人民币61.08元）。草津市到JR京都站的铁路交通十分便利，成为京都旅游的住宿地，酒店需求正在增加。位于该市的草津波士顿广场酒店从2024年10月开始把招聘兼职员工的时薪提高到1020日元（约合人民币47.95元），增加了50日元。
日本的住宿和餐饮行业长期面临劳动力短缺。日生基础研究所的经济调查部长斋藤太郎推算称，住宿和餐饮服务业的人手短缺数量在2024年7～9月约为120万人。这些行业的就业人数约为400万人，可见短缺2成以上。
