I am getting quite attached to this funny little chilled out village of Bonaventura.
The place I am in now is not really ideal and this afternoon I had a long conversar with a local lad, and got some good local knowledge. So, I'm gonna stay here a while, though I need to visit a dutch embassy to get my passport renewed.
It is not expensive to rent something right here in the town center, and it's not that noisy... Yes a bit of traffic but convenient to shop and local bar.
So I am going to look into it.
Additionally, it sounds like a month and mostly online tests and fairly easy practical test and I can get a car licence, and from there I can have a 125cc bike to travel with.
Which seems easy.
So I can stay nearby, easy to move, I can get transport to get across the island, and keep stacking sats to get a boat later.
And keep my promise to my mochi to keep him.
I came up here this afternoon to get a broader view of my situation and some idea of what next.
I'm loving it here in this little village and I don't want to leave until I can sail away.
It should be pretty easy. I mean, yes, work, but doable. And keep my cat. And move to a place with a bathtub.
People here are so chill. Even compared to Sao Vicente, which is more noisy and hectic.
Praise Jesus for the relief I feel.

love where your head is and we do have a plan for visualizing popularity. that's down the line and a little different than what you're describing but it's important to first note...
we believe in ending "following" people and instead just adding them to your contacts (like our old school physical address books!). then it won't matter how many people have you in their contacts, your reach is instead how many blocks or neighborhoods you've been added to.
so a person added to a lot of neighborhoods could be considered popular, rather than someone who is simply in a lot of people's contacts. a popular neighbor if you will...
I also think instead of finding profiles, on nextblock you'll find a few accounts of people you already know, hang out in their in neighborhoods and decide for yourself whether you even want to curate your own neighborhood.
also important to note...
we will have an opt in ad experience that lets you set the price for you attention/you get paid on Bitcoin to watch ads
if you hang out in someone else's neighborhood and an ad fires off, they will get a cut of your payout. a fee for the experience they've curated for you in their neighborhood.
we envision popular neighborhoods to QC the accounts they choose. they'll be financially incentivized to maintain the experience that people are coming for.
with this design and incentivized structure we think it will be less laborious to have an awesome feed of content from accounts you actually want to see.

Decreased my patient census for today and tomorrow. I'm getting wrecked this week with some medical tests for me, getting behind on notes, and getting burnt out. My wife is the most patient woman I know and when she starts mentioning things something needs to give.
I'm going to back off, take the pay hit, catch up and spend some quality time with my family. I get pretty absorbed in work and I'm not going to put myself in an early grave for someone else. Luckily who I work with is really understanding and is cool with it.

We are working based on pull request 1043. Our approach is at odds with fiatjaf's disdain for RSS. We don't think podcasters should have to give up their RSS feed to benefit from nostr.
Here is another standard that works along side PR 1043 to make RSS podcasts discoverable on nostr:
