Another experiment with film photography. This Ricoh XR-1 originally belonged to my uncle. I've had it for a while but never used it until I decided to put a roll of film in it a couple of weeks ago. I don't know exactly how old this one is (the model was originally released in 1977) but it hadn't been used for at least 15 years. I had no idea if it was going to still work but gave it a good clean, put some new batteries in it at which point the light meter started working (it is fully manual operation apart with the batteries only used for the light meter). While the photos I took with it maybe aren't particularly exciting, it did prove that the camera works. The only thing I found didn’t work is the counter so it was hard to track how many photos I had taken. I think you are trying to dump more responsibilities on kind 1s just because you saw it working on a few clients (not all kinds show it) and now you think every kind 1 should do it.
If it doesn't make sense for Olas, it shouldn't make sense on kind1s as well.
Chat clients offer 10-100x more visibility than Twitter-like clients. Should they display short notes as well just to increase visibility to Olas?

There is no short-notes feed in Olas, not even any text feed, so there's no natural place where to put it 🤷♂️
The problem with the zapstore route is that that implies the user thinking "oh, I wonder what apps my social circle is using nowadays" which is a thought basically no one ever has.
Whereas people use their microblogging clients all the time, and just running into a particular discussion that happens to be originated from a non-microblogging context would happen very frequently and it's far more natural and contextual.
There's a massive difference between going to an app store and seeing "Vitor uses this reading app"
to seeing in my microblogging feed:
"Yes. But the question is should communities be forkeable or not. Forking communities creates freedom but destroys the value created by moderators because they can be easily copied."
That short note which happens to be in a kind:1111 draws me in 1000x more and could help me discover a whole lot more that I didn't even know existed.

Here is an example of this guy posting bunk anyone can work out for themself if they stop to think about it. No degree or scientific paper reading required.
He recently posted saying your plastic cutting board exposes you to 10 credit cards worth of plastic a year.
Visualize 40 credit cards stacked up for a family of 4. Now compare that to the size of your cutting boards. There would be nothing left in a year before accounting for bits that came loose but fell on your floor or went down the drain. But we all know plastic cutting boards last for years. That number is obvious BS.
I'm not saying keep your plastic cutting board or that microplastics aren't bad. I'm pointing out this dude posts obvious BS if you stop and think for yourself. It is the nature of someone who makes their income from sensational health claims. They have to keep hunting for new sensational health claims to post or that income falls off. There is no opposing financial incentive for him towards accuracy in his posts. All incentives are for novel and sensational.

You need to open up a channel. It does cost some sats and there is no way to zap yet, but I can send sats to the reusable payment code once it's set up.
My theory is: It will be easier for non-technical people to create a bolt address than a lightning address. We should have a Bolt12 NIP. By the way, I don't think that exists yet.
