As 2,1 milhões de pessoas presentes, segundo a Riotur, em Copacabana para o show de Lady Gaga, na noite de sábado (3), passaram o público de Madonna, no ano passado, de 1,6 milhão – mesmo público dos Rolling Stones em 2006.
O recorde oficial de uma plateia de show internacional na praia, no entanto, ainda pertence a outro astro, Rod Stewart, que em 1994 levou entre 3,5 milhões e 4,2 milhões.
O número o levou a entrar para o Guiness Book, o livro dos recordes, como o maior show gratuito da história. Há, no entanto, quem conteste que a contagem levou em conta todo o público que estava na orla para a virada do ano, e que muitos nem viram o show.

Ao "Fantástico", no ano passado, ele lembrou do recorde de público e do dia que foi expulso do Copacabana Palace após jogar futebol no quarto (veja na reportagem acima).
Lenny Kravitz (2005)
A primeira vez de Lenny Kravitz no Rio foi especial, em show na praia de Copacabana em na celebração dos 440 anos da cidade.
Estima-se que o cantor arrastou um público de cerca de 300 mil a 600 mil pessoas.
Rolling Stones (2006)
Em 18 de fevereiro de 2006, os Rolling Stones voltaram ao Brasil para o show da turnê A Bigger Bang. O show, gratuito, foi realizado nas areias da praia de Copacabana, no Rio de Janeiro, para um público estimado em 1,5 milhão de pessoas.

Em 2012, o Rio recebeu como um dos presentes de Natal um show de Stevie Wonder com Gilberto Gil.
A dupla cantou por mais de quatro horas em show de graça. Acompanhados pela multidão, cantaram por mais de quatro horas e presentearam o público com as tradicionais canções natalinas “Boas Festas” e “Noite Feliz”.

O megashow de Madonna levou 1,6 milhão de pessoas a Copacabana. Depois de 12 anos, a popstar fez o quarto show no Brasil. A apresentação, que começou pouco depois das 22h30 e durou cerca de 2 horas, colocou fim à turnê mundial "The Celebration Tour".
A maior popstar em atividade fez o maior show de sua história, com participações dos filhos e das cantoras Pabllo Vittar (“Music”) e Anitta (“Vogue”). As duas não cantaram, mas subiram ao palco e contracenaram com a diva.
